The invention relates to the technical field of lithium battery separators, in particular to a composite separator for lithium batteries with high wettability. Aiming at the problems of poor electrolyte absorption and retention capacity of lithium-ion battery separators, the invention provides a high-wettability lithium-ion battery separator. The outermost layer of the separator is a polypropylene microporous membrane, and the middle layer is a polyethylene composite microporous membrane. Both sides of the polyethylene composite microporous membrane are coated with an identical functional coating composed of maleic anhydride-grafted hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin, nano-silica, a binder and ethanol. The technical solution adopted by the invention features a simple and eco-friendly process, and the prepared composite separator exhibits excellent electrolyte absorption and retention performance, air permeability and thermal stability.
