The present invention discloses a polyester film base film for electrothermal films suitable for mass production, which features a simple preparation process, convenient adjustment of functional formulations, and can reach the VTM-0 flame retardant rating. The technical gist lies in that the polyester film comprises a middle flame-retardant layer and heat-resistant layers compounded on both sides of the middle flame-retardant layer. The preparation method comprises the following steps: 1. Preparation of heat-resistant layer raw materials: by mass percentage, 60–80% high-strength heat-resistant polyester chips, 10–30% heat-resistant polyester masterbatch, and 10–30% functional masterbatch, totaling 100%; 2. Preparation of middle flame-retardant layer raw materials: by mass percentage, 50–60% high-strength heat-resistant polyester chips and 40–50% flame-retardant polyester masterbatch, totaling 100%; 3. Multi-layer co-extrusion, followed by traction and stretching after cooling. The present invention is applicable to the technical field of polyester films.
