A Method for Preparing Liquid Crystal Polymer Films

The invention belongs to the field of material preparation, and discloses a preparation method of a liquid crystal polymer (LCP) film. A liquid crystal polymer is made into a non-woven fabric through a melt-blowing process, and the non-woven fabric is hot-pressed to obtain the liquid crystal polymer film. The melt index of the liquid crystal polymer is greater than 1 g/10 min and less than 1000 g/10 min. By adopting the melt-blowing process, the invention eliminates the need to prepare the liquid crystal polymer into fibers during the production of the liquid crystal polymer film, simplifies the preparation process, avoids the problem of low yield in fiber preparation, and reduces production costs. The prepared liquid crystal polymer film has low anisotropy, with a tensile strength ratio of 0.9–1.1 between the transverse and longitudinal directions. The dielectric constant of the liquid crystal polymer film can be adjusted as required; for example, it can be as low as 2.4, and the dielectric loss tangent is lower than 0.01.
